From the Hand of God

Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 (KJV)

There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.

For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I?

For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Both provision and the ability to enjoy provisions are blessings from God. Without God, we would not even be able to digest the food that we worked so hard to gather.

When we accept that all we have comes from the hand of God and are content with whatever He has given us, we will then find peace and satisfaction. Keep God first in your life because the key to living well is to live a life which is pleasing to Him.

The Water Shall Come

2 Kings 3:17 (KJV)

For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.

Despite the drought like conditions that we may live in from time to time, Christians have reason to remain hopeful.  Scripture tells us that despite being in a drought, God can still make the water come.

Nothing is impossible for God.  He can do whatever He pleases.  As long as we remain faithful to God, we are connected to the One who can meet all of our needs.

Can’t Get No Satisfaction

Beach Sunset

Ecclesiastes 2:26 NIV
To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God.

Have you ever felt that you just cannot rest well? You might be in bed, trying to sleep but your mind just keeps spinning. As we toil on this earth, we are placed in environments of high pressure and demands. Often, we carry tension from being in these environments home with us, long after we have left the place of pressure. Sometimes it may seem as though, no matter what we do, we are not satisfied. We cannot rest.

I believe that God desires for us to have rest and peace. In spite of the environments that we may be placed in, if we turn our thoughts, mind and spirit to God, He will provide us with rest. If we strive to put our trust and hope in God, His word says that He will provide us with wisdom, knowledge and happiness.

Earthly business will not satisfy us. Many times, it will just make us weary. Although, for most of us, we must endure our business, God can and will provide us with the satisfaction we seek if we keep our eyes on Him. Despite whatever is consuming your thoughts, trust in God and seek God always. It is only what we humbly accept from the hand of God that will bring us peace. Believe that God is with you, wants to bless you, wants you to be in peace in all environments and wants you to be happy. Striving to please God is the way to satisfaction.
